Club History

Stamford Valley Golf Course is a 9-hole, regulation-length course located in the scenic small town of Stamford, Vermont.   The course officially opened on Sept. 5, 1964, when Leroy Lawrence made the decision to transition from farming into the growing golf industry.A former Speaker of the Vermont House of Representatives, Leroy was not only the founder, but also the principal designer and builder of the original nine holes.

Stamford Valley Golf Course stands as a true family-run business, passed down through three generations of the Lawrence family. As a seasonal Vermont course, operations typically run from April through October, depending on weather conditions.
